From the last moon cycle, I am grateful for…
I am grateful for clarity and choice-making. I spent most of the last moon cycle looking into stress, relaxation, and the physical body as a part of my Mindfulness Teacher Training program. There is a way what is called traumaâ„¢ reveals patterns about our experiences and the experience of our Peoples. It can have a hyperfocus quality to our attention and reduce the flexibility to see more options in our field of awareness. Dear reader, I gobbled and luxuriated in the moments I could sense what felt aligned and made me feel connected to choice.
I am grateful for my new calendar structure and how it reflects and shapes my attitude to time. For years, I wanted to have a calendar that reflected the moon’s cycles. In a wonderful stationary shop in Brooklyn, NY in 2022, I found this gem. Navigating the content of Teacher Training Program, I need extra support tracking all things needed to sustain my study, creative process, relationships, and plain and simple body care. My calendar offered me a sense of flexibility while deprioritizing productive and somehow I did everything on my to-do list. My process asks for 1-2 hours of deep concentration at the start of every season, 30-55 mins to set up every 6 weeks, and Wheee! My intentions and tasks are clearly articulately in the material realm, ready for my co-creating with the world(s).
I am grateful for my studio space. I brought in a desk and a peg board into the space, and everything has changed. When I am in the space, I feel at ease, and I can better feel the pull of the different materials. Big shoutout to my friends who catalyzed the process during their visit. (I will do a whole reveal…soon-ish!)
What excited me about the next moon cycle?
On Southern Pomo Land, I am near the autumn equinox and feeling the elongation of darkness on my skin and rhythm. I am excited to mark this equinox and looking forward to how it unfolds.
PLANTS! MORE plants! I want to be with the plants, and it feels like the plants want to be with me. I am ready to listen and learn.
I am calling in Play & Pleasure as I deepen into practice and move beyond the edge into darkness. May I remember connection and self-trust~~~
Dearest reader, what do you need to let go? What movements can you offer your body/vessel/meat suit as the moon waxes & wanes?
bumbling into Love,
Flore
P.S. The Gratitude to the New Moon series needs a new name to reflect the consistency of each new moon and its distinctiveness. Open to suggestions. And thank you for noticing this letter was sent after the new moon. I decided to spend time with plants and trusted these words would reach you when the time was perf!
